K16-Pro Controller Cap by Kulp Lights v4
The K16-Pro by Kulp Lights is the mid-line version of the K16v4 family. This fourth revision is a cape for the PocketBeagle v2 and is designed to drive WS281x LED pixels. It has 16 × local ports that can each drive up to 800 pixels at 40 fps or up to 1,200 pixels at 20 fps. Utilizing the eight RJ45 differential ports, you can output an additional 32 - 192* strings via differential receivers. There are an additional two RJ45 RS485 outputs for DMX, PixelNet, Renard, or LOR.
As with any of the controllers in the K16v4 family, the K16-Pro has a Real Time Clock (RTC) to maintain time, a temperature sensor, input voltage sensors, an OLED display with navigation push buttons, and a Gigabit Ethernet port (wired via USB2 so roughly 300Mb/s speed). Special to the K16-Max and K16-Pro, there are three powered USB ports, onboard sound, and a socket for an optional FM transmitter (sold separately).
Each controller in the K16v4 family requires a PocketBeagle v2. The K16v4 family will not work with a first generation PocketBeagle
*Anything past the first 32 ports requires a smart receiver capable of daisy chaining.
